When you log out of the Care App, you’ll see an option to "Sync data and logout". It makes sure any data still on your EmbracePlus reaches the app before you disconnect.
EmbracePlus collects data all day and sends it to the app over Bluetooth. If it couldn’t send everything, some data is still stored in the device’s memory.
Choosing "Sync data and logout" runs one final sync, so all your data is uploaded and linked to your participant ID.
Logging Out and Syncing Your Data
- Check that EmbracePlus is on and within Bluetooth range of your phone
- Check that your phone has a working internet connection
- In the Care App, tap the three dots in the top-right corner and select Logout
- When asked, select Sync data and logout
- EmbracePlus stops collecting data while the Care App uploads whatever is left on the device.
This usually takes a few minutes. If a lot of data is still stored on the device, it can take considerably longer, up to a few hours. Keep EmbracePlus right next to your phone to speed it up. - A Logout completed screen confirms you’re logged out
- EmbracePlus turns off on its own once this is done
Always choose "Sync data and logout". If you skip it, any data still on your EmbracePlus may never reach your profile.
If the Logout or Data Sync Fails
To log out properly, EmbracePlus needs to stay within Bluetooth range of your phone, and your phone needs a stable internet connection.
Logging out can fail if:
- EmbracePlus moves out of Bluetooth range while syncing
- A firmware update is running
- The Bluetooth connection is unstable
- Your phone’s internet connection drops or is unreliable
If you see an error:
- Hold EmbracePlus as close to your phone as you can; the closer it is, the faster data transfers
- Check that your phone has a stable internet connection
- Try again and select Sync data and logout once more
Keeping the device close by and trying again usually fixes the problem.
